Hello Fellow Golfers,
You can play better golf in 30 days.
Today I’m going to talk to you about learning to play golf within 30 days, even if you have never picked up a club in your life.
You will not become a good golfer, you will still lose a few balls, and hit some bad shots.
But, you will become a better golfer and get around the course with confidence.
The reason I can say this with confidence is that I recently had the privilege of helping someone achieve just that.
He was an individual that had never played golf before.
While at work one day, he was told my his manager that the regional manager would be in town next month and he wanted to play a round of golf.
He was asked to come along and play with them.
Since, he had never played golf before, he had no idea where to start.
This individual was very athletic and had superb hand eye coordination.
We went to the range and I showed him the ONLY two things he needed to focus on to play golf and hit the ball forward.
You see the goal with beginners and high handicappers is to keep the ball moving forward.
This helps keep the game moving and keeps everyone happy and enjoying the game.
During our first range visit he was actually making reasonable contact with the golf ball.
After six sessions, two each of the next three weeks, and two range sessions on his own.
The big day arrived and he was a bit nervous, which was to be expected.
Fortunately for him, the format was two man scramble.
So this was less pressure to hit every shot well.
He still lost a few golf balls and hit some bad shots, but he was able to play with guys.
By focusing on the two most important things you need to play better golf he was able to enjoy the round.
He was so excited that he wanted to play again with his co-workers.
So, we had a couple of more range sessions and he played with some co-workers
the following weekend.
He actually hit the ball very well for someone who had only played two rounds of golf in his life.
The key was to help him focus on the two things that are most important in playing good
golf and to eliminate all of the other clutter that many people try to tell you about the golf swing.
You see if you focus on the only two things that really matter in controlling the golf ball,
then you can play better golf and have more fun.
Now, if you want to become a single digit handicapper, then I think you should start
focusing on the more complex techniques in the golf swing.
But for the weekend warrior who just wants to play better golf and have more fun, then
focusing on the two most important aspects is all you need to work on.
Look forward to working with you all, spreading the good word about the golf
swing, and helping you all play better golf and have more fun doing it.
